Drove across eastern Kentucky, trees just keep getting taller and taller. On into West Virginia, through Charleston. It’s a city with a big river going right through it. Headed north a bit then onto 2 lane WV roads. Ended up at Kumbrarow State Park, it was down a road being repaired so they didn’t have […]
Camped at Fort Boonesboro State Park, should have seen the Fort but didn’t. Pushed hard this day to cover some ground and needed to stop. The woman put us in a site next to tent campers and with big RVs around. We were between the noise of the water processing plant and the fans etc. […]
On to Missouri. Slowly wound my way from Girard KS to Springfield MO. Going to an outdoor store to get a half-length foam sleeping pad. Went to Bass Outdoor World! Why do they have to make shopping and entertainment event! ?!?!? I just want a foam pad! On top of all their nonsense they only […]
On through the panhandle of Oklahoma to Kansas, one of my favorite states. I passed by Meade and Meade State Park where I often stay and went on to Hwy. 160. I followed it over hills and hills. Kept on following it across lower Kansas. The state map I got in 2007 shows the geology […]
Back onto I40 to Tucumcari and up my favorite Hwy, 54, a ribbon of a road with lots of big rigs. Turns out there are major meat processing plants along there. After driving to the city park, No Man’s Land twice, and past the 2 RV parks, one nice one with someone there (but expensive […]

Headed to Vermont today, flying from Phoenix to Detroit. I’m excited to be flying again, it’s been along time. And then, there will be the grandchildren at my destination.
The Prescott region Site Stewards had a field trip to the old Stone Corral. It used to be an inn along the General Crook Trail from Cottonwood to Prescott, AZ. We saw the remains of the corral, which was actually quite large, and the old root cellar. We walked on across Ash Creek, which was […]
I drove to Winslow Az for the Annual Site Stewards Conference. I stayed in the historic, restored Fred Harvey La Posada Inn.. I paid extra for a balcony room and it was worth it, I loved having access to fresh air and a view. I met my friends Judy and Joyce. We had drinks out in the sunken garden and really enjoyed visiting with each other.
