Monster Blizzard dubbed ‘Nemo’

A HUGE blizzard crushed the NE states, and Alberta Clipper and a Nor’Easter collided over Massachusetts.  Steph let the girls stay up late Thursday night because it was to hit Friday.

But we live too far north for snow.  The storm passed way to our south, school was open and we only got about 6 inches.

I was really worried because I was scheduled to work at the Flynn on Saturday and the Pathfinder doesn’t have snow tires!  I can’t drive to Burlington in a blizzard!

I tried to get Pete Curtis to fill in, but the BA wasn’t available and Pete was on the hook as SpotOp at LOH, so I was pretty hosed. Well I awoke Thursday morning and Steph had called Greensboro Garage and put his only rental car on hold for me.  I was about to try on more time to replace myself when the BA finally wrote back saying basically, ‘Suck it up and do the call’.  So I rented the car.  Steph looked up the car’s gas mileage and did some calculations and she discovered that the rental will onyl cost about $20 more than driving the Pathfinder!  Well, OK, then.

Jerome says his Subaru get’s pretty good mileage, like 27.  The Volvo gets 22.  I drove Jen’s Forrester years ago and I didn’t like it much.  The poor Japanese Gerbils were stressed out by the time I got to 60. So I was wondering about buying one.  Well, when I got into the rental Subaru it was like getting into our cars after Steph had driven it, my body was wedged in and twisted around and I had to figure out how to exricate myself and get in without getting stuck.  The first thing I had to do was move the seat way back because it was obviously last driven by a woman.  But, no, the seat was already all the way back!  I at least could use the tilt-wheel to move the wteering wheel in and up.
