Lovely weekend with the kids – Friday
Friday was Errol’s birthday. We went to Montpelier to run errands. We got gas at $3.95/gal, we went to the mailbox and then the coop. Birthday presents for Errol were at the box. We have been telling Errol it is his birthday, so he’s quite aware that it is a special day for him.
Errol’s vocabulary has been rapidly building in recent weeks. This has been very good for us in that we can explain things to him and he gets it. Mostly he agrees, but sometimes he doesn’t want to hear about the immutable laws of physics and continues to demand the impossible.
We didn’t have a birthday event on Friday, Audrey planned out a party for him for Saturday, so we waited. In the evening on Friday the Girls started saying something about Errol opening presents, but I reminded them that they were the ones that set the party date to Saturday. If Errol opened presents Friday night we wouldn’t have any left for the party on Saturday. So we all waited. Errol did open his birthday cards, one from Peggy and one from Kay.
I saw Chris Gruen at the Montpelier Co-Op and we talked about the TV station tie-in to the radio station now that they have the Hardwick transmitter. He was asking about video taping the new friday night concert series. It’s an interesting thing: Goddard College is located in ORCA’s area, the Montpelier PEG system, and WGDR has the new transmitter covering Hardwick’s PEG station, HCTV. Chris wants both access stations to air WGDR events. I told him to talk to me about the video equipment he’s interested in, and we set a date for after the next fundraiser week.
