When we took Kay to the airport I drove around Hardwick to show her Emily’s house on Church St.  Then I drove up the hill to see Toni’s house.  On the way I saw another place for sale with a huge yellow sign ‘highly motivated seller’.  I wrote down the number.

We called him last night.  Turns out it’s Ovy Tremper’s son!  Ovy was our next door neighbor in Woodbury for nine years.  ‘Chip’ is in the business of lease-to-own houses.  He buys run down cheap places, rehabs the place and then offers it on a 10 year lease to people that wouldn’t be able to get a loan.

We went to see him and the house today and we like it well enough.  The house price and rate is high, but it’s what we would pay at Emily’s anyway.  And this way we would be building equity.
