Dartmouth / Everett – Day 3
I wasn’t quite so sore this morning. I put the futon back together and had to run. Today’s call was 9 AM. Once again I stopped at the MapleField’s in Woodstock and got an egg sandwich and coffee. I am very thankful that Ethan lent me $40!
I didn’t have time to walk in from the free Thompson Arena parking lot, so I paid to park at the 10 hours lot on the other side of the construction zone (the new media building).
I spent my day working on the spreadsheet of equipment for a TV studio, not that this would ever happen, but it might. And so I was asked to make up a list. I found that a 12′ x 12′ black backdrop can be had for only $250!
Eventually it was the afternoon coffee break, Keely told me that there were coffee and doughnuts in the Green Room, so I signed out five minutes early (since they seemed done with projection). When I got back in, I saw everyone packing up! So I asked Keely what I needed to do, and she nothing, so I never clocked back in and just left.
Now there had been freezing rain all afternoon, and Jessamin had cancelled the girl’s Re•Bop rehearsal because of the slippery roads, so I was trepidacious about setting off. Yes, there was frozen slush where the tires didn’t go, but the roads were OK. So I headed home.
When I got on the highway I was in the middle of a group of cars that were all going 45 and only in the right lane. The roads weren’t that bad! But I went between 50 and 65 all the way up to Ryegate. Going through Groton forest was the worst part, but that was more from frozen slush, rather than actual ice.
And I made it home fine. Boy am I tired, though. I was joking with Stephanie by asking her why the girls were still up when it was 11:30PM. Now it’s 9:20 and Audrey is refusing to sleep.
Hoo, boy, am I tired.
