Bow Thayer & Perfect Trainwreck – EDEN Concert

Bow hired me again to shoot the concert for his new CD EDEN.  I hired Finn and he suggested a third helper, a guy named Cal from Monkton.

Each of us brought a primary camera and a still camera that can shoot video, and Finn brought his Steadicam.  Bow had a dress rehearsal before the concert, so I set up all the cameras on stage in the way of the sightlines, and for the show, got FOH and reverses.

That is basically 12 angles to edit together!

It went great, but…

Cal’s footage was all in a MPEG stream, the Canon 5D’s record another format, and the my and Finn’s cameras recorded in HDV720P.  I have to convert all the footage to HDV.  Strangely nothing I usually use could even open Cal’s footage!  QT, MPEG Streamclip, not even VLC!  But, strangely enough, Adobe Premiere did!  And I could export it as HDV.  Thank goodness.
