What Hurricane? I’ve got to get to work!

Last night I drove down to Boston in order to be on the edge of Hurricane Sandy.  Heh.

After the Hop’s 50th, High Output called me asking if I can switch a show for them in Boston today and tomorrow.  They put me up in a hotel for two nights.

Today I set up the gear.  I was worried about the setup, because at the Hop, the High Output ringer had done that and I didn’t get to see how he did the monitor screens.  It turns out that I have to adjust the monitors themselves to get the image placed in the screen properly, and then adjust the input to fit.  After I figured that out, it was easy.

We did a run through at the end of the day.

Boy was it windy today.  The highest wind gust in the Boston TV viewing area was 81 MPH.  At lunch I walked past a big window looking out at a park and it was blowing!  At one point the center projector was seen bouncing up and down slightly.  Well that’s because it was hung from the roof of the ballroom, and it was the entire 100’x200′ roof flexing in the high winds.

Boston shut down the transit system at 2 PM and stores closed sporadically after that.  I wonder if I’ll be able to eat tomorrow…

They have seating for 1300 people, let’s see how many come out tomorrow for the show.
