Mud Season is here
Yesterday and today was in the mid-50s! By this afternoon all dirt roads that got sunlight were giant, deep mudpits. I had to go get Kamina, as she had no car, so I drove down County Road from Woodbury to Maple Corner store and then back again. It was OK, but once on the way down the ruts were so deep that the bottom was scraping and I was worried it would get beached – and then I’d be stuck… But I kept it going and got through.
At the Maple Corner store I bought a cup of coffee and told the clerk that I had to replace the white on my knuckles ’cause I’d worn it all off driving in there and had to replace it to get back out again! Then I had to drive her up to Stannard! It was two hours of mud season, driving along ruts like a railroad track. Ay carrumba.
