Dartmouth / Everett – Day 2
Oh, boy, does today suck.
Brenda’s futon sure isn’t my own bed. With a crick in my neck and a sore muscle in my back I woke up at 9:30 at Brenda’s house only to realize that I might not make it to work on time!
I did though, just exactly in time.
But once here I looked at my bank account and discovered that I got hit with another $50 in overdraft fees because the BoA’s $25 overdraft fee put my account too low for the phone bill and Mr. Z’s bill! $75 in fees because I was $3 short. Great way to start the day.
I got online to the credit union and they did replace the $50 fees from today, but refused to return the $25 fee for BoA. So my account still stands at -$11.07 instead of the $13.93 I thought it was going to have. I can’t get ahold of BoA because I don’t have any account info with me here at Dartmouth, so I have to way of knowing when they are going to hit my account with more $25 returned check fees.
And I had thought I had gotten everything with the HCTV check ready. I made the timesheet yesterday before I even left for Dartmouth so that Meredith would have it the moment she got in to the office. She would then process the pay checks and Bob Purvis would come in this morning and sign it. I had Steph go to the TV station today to get the check and put it into the bank immediately.
Well, I got a phone message from her saying she was in the office and didn’t see any checks. I looked in my email and … I never actually sent the timesheet to Meredith! I made it up, but never emailed it!
So now what. I have -11, no gas in my car, no way to get even a cup of coffee, and there will be no check until Thursday – at the earliest!
Christmas SUCKS!
UPDATE:
Day is coming to a close. I worked on an HCTV equipment list this evening. It is official: video tape is over. There are no more Canon GL2 cameras. Everything is 1.78:1, no more 1.33:1, as well. But I don’t think we can send Comcast a 16:9 image, they are only accepting a 4:3 picture. So do I spec a mobil shooting studio in 16:9 with no recording ability?
Ethan, who is more broke than me, lent me $40 in cash, so at least I can put some gas in the car. I can’t even get back to Brenda’s house!
This is a long-term nightmare. Just waiting for something else to hit the bank account and accrue another $25 fee… And there’s nothing I can do about it.
