May 11, 1918 – At Sea

Saturday, at sea. 64.20 Long, 40.15 Lat. Dist 248 miles.

Heavy fog this morning and ship rolling to beat the band. Had General Quarters, Abandon Ship, Fire Drill and Submarine Attack.  The weather is fine only the heavy sea running make thigns bad.  A ship came in sight astern and we left the convoy and went after her. She proved to be one of the ships that belong to us and was just catching up.
