Yeah, I am fairly sure it’s the bearings. I jacked up the front wheels one at a time and wiggled them. The ball joints and tie rods seems fine, it felt like the hub, the wheel rim moved in relation to the brake caliper.
Not driving the van out of Cabot now.
The girls are finally back in school this week. Steph, Errol and I came up to Hardwick at 11 AM and met with Jerome. I go my computer connected to the projector and we got to work filling out the Membership levels. We did this work last year, March of 2011, so most of it […]
We’ve been working a lot recently, haven’t had much time to write. A house came up for rent in Hardwick, right up the hill from the Office. It’s tiny, but on a lot of land. It’s really nice, but I don’t think they’ll rent to us. They just bought it and spent a lot of […]
Steph had me drive the van to identify a sound from the front right. I drove it about a 1/4 mile and back. I think it’s the bearing.
So on the 850 the ball joints are molded into the lower control arm. Replacing the balljoint is as simple as removing the balljint clamp bolt, then the two control-arm-to-subframe bolts. I got the old balljint stem half way out and then went to work on the control arm bolts. Last thing I wanted was […]
I I lifted the driver’s side of he car and took a look at the exhaust system. That was the deciderator. And it was fine. I put the exhaust pipe back into the catalytic convertor, ruefully eyeballing the heavy scratching on it from hitting the road on the way home Monday. There was a bracket […]
If it’s not one thing, it’s another! Last night Errol kept talking in his sleep, yelling at dreams of Audrey and Olivia, waking up every half an hour wanting to drink or nurse. This is the third night of that and boy are we wiped out. Audrey said her throat was sore yesterday morning, and […]
Today just didn’t go the way we had planned. Audrey is home sick, Errol hasn’t been sleeping well. Today was dance day. I took Olivia and Clara down there, then Errol and I ran some errands. We went to the mailbox and then the Coop to get peanut butter, or “Pee-te-ta” in Errol-speak. We went […]
I called home today from work and got Audrey who said that she spoke with Gramma Kay. Later mom called me from her drive in southern AZ. She was coming back three days early from a long camping trip. Later she called me as I was driving home from work and we talked for a […]
Worked at Norwich University today. Their big Spring turnover. Marilyn left there last October, and her second, Phillip, did this entire exhibit himself. I must say I miss Mariel and wish she were here doing this. I had a problem with the DVD last night and I was up late and up again early today. […]
Our tax refund arrived yesterday. We were told to expect the state one first, around today, and the Fed later, like next week. To our surprise the Fed’s is here now and the state is delayed. Well, we are happy, no matter what. We can pay off some bills and get the Pathfinder fixed. Last […]
Yesterday and today was in the mid-50s! By this afternoon all dirt roads that got sunlight were giant, deep mudpits. I had to go get Kamina, as she had no car, so I drove down County Road from Woodbury to Maple Corner store and then back again. It was OK, but once on the way […]
Yesterday was Town Meeting day. I had not been looking for ward to this, it is such a crazy day. This year we were determined to make it easier. Meredith and Kurt went over to the Elementary school on Monday and set up the microphones. I went to the office and prepped all my equipment, […]
Working at Dartmouth today and tomorrow. The Step Dancing show. I think they are doing this for the first time, there’s a four judge panel that evaluates each of the 12 step-dance acts. It seems that most of the step-dance acts are fraternities. Like most student productions, the don’t realize that they need to have […]
I took the girls and the boy down to dad’s house today. I was so tired this morning, too many days of not enought sleep. We were supposed to leave by noon, but it was 2 PM before we left Montpelier. We started by setting fire to several brush piles he had lying around, which […]
