After we realized what a scumbag our landlord was and how expensive it was going to be to heat the place for the winter, we abandoned the house and Karen and I moved to an apartment over a garage behind a house on Victory Blvd.
After our school year was over some of us were concerned as to where we would live, since NYC apartments are so expensive, ($400/mo!). 6 of us rented a house out in Staten Island.
I worked on Street Trash all summer long, for the whopping sum of $125/week.
After I graduated High School at Mt. Abe, I got in to School of Visual Arts in NYC. For the first year I lived in their ‘dorm’, the former YMCA building on 34th St. and 9th Ave. After winter break I started dating Karen.
