We had a great Historical Society Meeting tonight. The room was filled. Betty Wells, long time ranch woman and Chino Valley resident, was our guest speaker. Betty Aiken Wells was born in Chino Valley in 1924. Her father came to Chino Valley in the very early 1900’s and worked for the Perkins Ranch. He eventually had his own homestead. Betty grew up ranching and cowboying with her family and for the local ranchers. She married Billy Wells in 1946. They continued to farm, ranch and raise three children. They still do some ranching today. She has experienced much of the history of Chino Valley and has a great sense of humor. She is a great story teller and has the stories to tell. We all had a good time listening to them. Thanks very much to her and her family for coming out tonight to share these stories with us.
